Variety reports that James Corden and Rose Byrne are currently in talks to star in Sony's live-action/animation adaptation of the classic children's story PETER RABBIT. Will Gluck will direct the project which will merge live-action with state-of-the-art CG animation.

The comedy is described as "a modern interpretation of the Beatrix Potter stories, centering on the rivalry between the mischievous PETER RABBIT and Mr. McGregor." While Corden will lend his voice to the title character, Byrne will portray a live-action role.

Talk show and Tony Award host James Corden was last seen on the big screen in INTO THE WOODS. His late night talk show recently received four Emmy nominations. The talented actor is also the recipient of a Tony Award for his performance in Broadway's ONE MAN TWO GUVNORS.

Byrne recently starred in "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" and "X-Men: Apocalypse." She appeared in the Broadway revival of YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU, which opened in 2014.
