ESPN Launches Cricket Pass App Ahead of 2016 VIVO Indian Premier League Season

Ahead of this weekend's season-opening of the 2016 VIVO Indian Premier League, ESPN Cricket Pass has launched its dedicated app accessible on smartphones, tablets and connected devices. The subscription streaming service is offering full live and on-demand coverage of the most popular domestic T20 tournament in the world. In addition to the ESPN Cricket Pass website, subscribers will be able to view matches on the ESPN Cricket Pass app for iOS, Android and Roku devices. ESPN Cricket Pass will also be available on Apple TV via Airplay.

Additionally, ESPN has reached agreements with DISH, Verizon FiOS, Hotwire Communications and RCN to make all 60 matches of the 2016 season available live for purchase via pay per view. Mediacom was previously announced as a distributor.

Live and replay streaming for the full season in English (60 matches: 56 regular season, 4 post season) is now available to purchase for $29.99 on ESPNCricketPass.com.

ESPNcricinfo to Deliver Comprehensive, Multiplatform Coverage of the 2016 IPL Season

In addition to live and on-demand streaming coverage in the U.S., ESPNcricinfo will include the following digital-exclusive coverage throughout the season:

ESPNcricinfo Match Day: a daily live program at 10 a.m. ET featuring match reviews and previews.
The Friendly Toast: a morning show in which ESPN analysts adopt two teams each, and the analysis is conducted in a narrative of them competing against each other and earning points through the choices they make. It will be available only within the United States and SonyESPN. ESPN cricket analysts include Daryll Cullinan, Dirk Nannes, Iain O'Brien and Ajit Agarkar.
Coverage on ESPNcricinfo and in Cricket Monthly will include live ball-by-ball, match reports, analysis and color pieces from the ground, columns from Aakash Chopra and Sanjay Manjrekar and additional pieces from various reporters.
Matches will appear on Sony Six and SonyESPN (English) and Set Max (Hindi).
2016 marks the ninth season for the Indian Premier League (IPL). Founded in 2007 by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), it is the most watched domestic Twenty20 league in the world. It consists of eight franchises in major Indian cities, and features many of the top Twenty20 cricketers from around the world competing in a 60-match tournament over six and a half weeks. Each of the teams play against each other twice, before a four-match KNOCKOUT phase (2 Qualifiers matches, an Eliminator match and the Final).

Last year the Mumbai Indians defeated the Chennai Super Kings by 41 runs to take home the IPL title. In 2016, the eight IPL teams are the Delhi Daredevils, Gujarat Lions, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Rising Pune Supergiants, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad.
