CBS News' FACE THE NATION was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for its July 17 special edition, live from Cleveland, Ohio ahead of the Republican National Convention. FACE THE NATION delivered 3.45 million viewers and 0.7/04 in adults 25-54, the demographic most important to those who advertise in news. FACE THE NATION posted double-digit year-to-year percentage growth in viewers (up +35%, from 2.55m) and adults 25-54 (up +75%, from 0.4/02). FACE THE NATION is also the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program in viewers television year-to-date, according to Nielsen most current ratings. Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION delivered 3.69 million viewers (up +10%, from 3.34m compared to last year). On the July 17 broadcast, John Dickerson broadcast live from Cleveland, Ohio ahead of start of the Republican National Convention. The show started with an excerpt of the first joint interview with presumptive Republican candidate Donald Trump and his running mate Indiana Gov. Mike Pence that aired on 60 MINUTES on Sunday night. Among the interviewees/guests were Donald J. Trump for President; Campaign Manager Paul Manafort; Newt Gingrich; Former Governor of Mississippi Haley Barbour; and Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams. Dickerson moderated a conservative panel discussion featuring the Wall Street Journal's Kimberley Strassel; The Federalist's Ben Domenech; and American Conservative Union's Matt Schlapp. The political panel featured CBS News Contributor Bob Schieffer; Washington Post's Ed O'Keefe; and Wall Street Journal and CBS News Contributor Peggy Noonan.Videos
