Variety reports that the ABC network has greenlit a new comedy pilot from 'Everybody Loves Raymond' creator Phil Rosenthal (at left). The project is based on the lives of Henry Winkler's family. While the actor (best known as 'The Fonz' from Happy Days fame), is currently not involved, he has not dismissed the possibility that he may sign on.

The multi-cam project follows "an emotionally reserved construction worker who learns about love and life while living unexpectedly with his over-sharing in-laws."

Max Winkler (son of Henry Winkler) will executive produce alongside his brother-in-law Rob Reinis and Jack Johnson through The Walcott Company. Max Winkler recently directed episodes of the TV comedies "New Girl" and "The New Normal." 20th Century FOX TV will produce the pilot.

Winkler is best known for his role as Fonzie in the 1970s American sitcom Happy Days. "The Fonz", a leather-clad greaser and auto mechanic, started out as a minor character at the show's beginning, but had achieved top billing by the time the show ended. He currently stars as Sy Mittleman on Childrens Hospital.
