ZERO ZERO

BIO:
Turns a guitar-based approach on its head, with sexy grooves and downtempo beats.” - Phoenix New Times, June 2012 "Airplay readiness, earthy grittiness...a smart blending of synths and instruments delivers depth and on top of that a delightful vocal. It is of little surprise they have made such fast progress." - Indie Bands Blog (UK) Nov 2012 (“Top 5 Bands of the Week”) “Chart-ready modern electro-pop, deadly fuzzbox guitar, brilliant dance beats, and breathy vocalizations that recall Jane Birkin and Brigitte Bardot. Pure danceability.” - Echocloud Productions, Song of the Week, Jul 2012 “Effortless pop sensibilities. Laurenne's vocals in particular bring a vintage New Wave flavor.” – Arizona Republic, Oct 2012 “An electro-pop dance fest. Laurenne is a vixen between two synthesizers while belting into the mic. Zero Zero is ready to conquer the world.” – College Times (Tempe), Oct 2012 "Brilliantly hook-heavy, catchy-as-hell, sexy, unstoppably infectious electro-pop. Its cross-genre appeal is going to blow minds across the globe." - Java Magazine, Jul 2012 “Laurenne wore stark white boots and commanded the stage. She is a breath of fresh air.” – Phoenix New Times, Dec 2012 "We have a trifecta. We're spinning “Drug” for the third time in a row right now." - KWSS 106.7 FM (Phoenix), May 2012 “Too good not to share. We can’t wait to see them on tour.” - Radio Valencia 87.9 FM (San Francisco), Aug 2012 “True radio potential. Rock n roll is engrained in their genes.” – My Head Is A Jukebox (France), Sept 2012 “Incredibly catchy songs. Listen to ‘Go’ and try to get it out of your head. It ain’t easy.” – Incognito Magazine (Orange County CA), Oct 2012 Zero Zero is an electro-fuzz band created by singer/keyboardist Nicole Laurenne, guitarist Michael Johnny Walker, and drummer Nick Ramirez. An early demo of the single "Drug" went into regular rotation on Phoenix radio unexpectedly in June 2012 when Laurenne gave the demo to a disc jockey during a live interview. The disc jockey spun the demo three times in a row, by request. The demo soon began spinning regularly on commercial specialty radio shows out of San Francisco, Boise, Phoenix, and Berlin. Zero Zero’s self-produced debut album, MAYDAY, was released on October 5, 2012, on limited-edition collector’s flip drives and digital downloads, by Atomic A Go Go Records. Within one month of the band’s first show, Zero Zero shared the stage with Karmin, Magic Wands, A Silent Film, and Roger Clyne, performed headliner slots at music festivals and benefit concerts, was featured in international music blogs, and was selected to perform on a television pilot in Hollywood. In 2013, Zero Zero hopes to tour selected cities in the US, Europe, and Japan, and will begin work on a second record. As the team behind garage rock act The Love Me Nots, Laurenne and Walker have written and released five albums, toured Europe several times, appeared in feature stories in Rolling Stone, Spin, and Village Voice among many others, are currently in regular rotation on Sirius/XM Radio, and saw their entire discography re-released by french label Bad Reputation Records. Laurenne was named Best Frontperson of 2010 by The Arizona Republic and Walker was featured in Fender’s The Soul of Tone video.
