The new trio made up of French Horn Rebellion's David Perlick-Molinari, Former Savoir Adore Co-Founder / Vocalist Deidre Muro (Deidre & The Dark), and Love Like Deloreans' Derek Muro (The Mighty Five) will be previewing music from their forthcoming EP including the two breakout tracks "Lift Me Up" ft. Pink Flamingo Rhythm Revue (aka Eric "Doc" Mendelssohn of Ghost Beach) and "No Matter What" which has seen more than 18K streams on Soundcloud in less than a month and is currently featured in the new Spotify Party Campaign.

Violet Sands crafts shimmering, expansive, and experimental electronica that is as playfully lush as it is masterfully produced. Recorded and mixed at the groups' YouTooCanWoo Studios in Williamsburg Brooklyn (where Perlick-Molinari also produced and mixed MGMT's Time To Pretend EP among many others) - the trio blends myriad influences including 90's R&B, shoegaze, glitch pop and future bass with sci-fi infused cinematic soundscapes and trip-hop inspired dreamstates.

While the group first came together as Violet* Sands in late 2015, the three artists' personal history goes back quite a bit further: Deidre and Derek are siblings who have been making music together since high school; Deidre and David are married and have collaborated on music since they first met in 2003.

The resulting dynamic and collaboration ultimately gave rise to the world of Violet* Sands: a conceptual project that encompasses science-fiction space-desert imagery, characters, themes and settings that are reflected in the sonic cosmic vistas of their songs.

The overall concept is tied into our visual inspiration - the idea of a desert with supernatural or paranormal qualities, " explains Derek. "We also think of Violet* Sands as a woman's name, one of the main characters we follow in the story of the songs."

Deidre elaborates: "The desert concept or metaphor is something we found ourselves drawn to over and over again. From its seemingly inhospitable environment and alien-like habitation to its solitude and quiet - it just felt so much like our understanding of personal journeys and self-discovery. To find your own truth, the way you live and thrive among the mysterious, to try to understand your place in a strange world."

Violet Sands is currently working on new music with an EP coming in early 2016 (details to be announced soon).
