Independent film production company Modern City Entertainment has announced the launch of its Kickstarter campaign to fund the production of its third documentary film, Heroes: Police, Fire, Military - "Not just a job. It's life and death."

The latest Heroes documentary film aims to capture the highlights and struggles of police, fire and military heroes- those who run toward dangers most of us have been taught to run away from. Every 32 hours an American soldier, firefighter or law enforcement officer is killed in the line of duty.

The Kickstarter campaign runs through April 5, 2015. Visit the Heroes project page for complete details.

Executive Producer Bill Erfurth spent 26 years with the Miami-Dade Police Department, where he lost four of his friends in the line of duty during his first five years of service, and several more thereafter. He wanted to create a way to remember the fallen officers, while also thanking them for the sacrifices they have made.

"It has become clear that some Americans are losing touch with the important role law enforcement officers, firefighters and the military play," says Executive Producer Bill Erfurth, "And how lucky we all are that there are still people out there willing to answer the call."

With pledge options as little as $10, it doesn't cost much to help make the production of this film possible. The $250,000 goal will provide enough funds to begin production this year, however this is the bare minimum required to get the project off the ground. Without crowd-funding support, the filmmakers will not be able to create the third Heroes documentary, leaving many truly heartbreaking, inspiring and extraordinary stories untold.

"The Heroes films have humanized the law enforcement profession like no other films before it. It has had a major impact on the law enforcement community but also the general public at large. Our nation, now more than ever, needs to have a better understanding and appreciation for the vital service that law enforcement provides and Heroes has allowed us to see that," Craig Floyd, Chairman and CEO of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

About the Heroes Behind The Badge documentary film series:

Bill Erfurth, executive producer, teamed up with British Academy Award-winning Director Wayne Derrick to create the first two Heroes documentaries: Heroes Behind The Badge and Heroes Behind The Badge: SACRIFICE & Survival. With the help of this new Kickstarter campaign, the pair hope to partner again to bring the third film, Heroes: Police, Fire, Military to life.
