Family Film RODEO GIRL Set to Begin Shooting This October

"Rodeo Girl," set to begin shooting October 5, is an exciting family film starring Kevin Sorbo, TV's "Hercules" and star of box office smash, "God's Not Dead." The film also stars Grand Rapids' own Sophie Bolen and Derek Brandon.

Sophie has appeared in three made for TV movies including, "The Christmas Bunny" (2010), in which she won the Child Actor of the Year award for and appeared alongside Hollywood mainstay, Florence Henderson. Sophie is joined by actor, Derek Brandon, known for his lead role in the teen adventure series, "Mickey Matson," available in Walmart locations nationwide. Brandon has shared the screen with many well-known actors, such as, Dean Cain, David Carradine and Christopher Lloyd.

14-year-old Priscilla is living a life of luxury at her New England boarding school, including daily riding lessons on her hunter jumper, Lucky Lad. Everything takes a turn for the worse though when she is sent to live with her cowboy father for the summer. Life improves when she discovers rodeo! Priscilla trades her English saddle for a Western one, and Lucky Lad learns to race barrels!

Producer Joel Paul Reisig is known for several successful independent film projects in the Midwest including "Small Town Santa," "A Horse For Summer," and "Horse Camp." Joel is joined by co-producer, Lucas Miles, a breakout producer already with a reputation of coaching many of Hollywood's rising stars. Casting for THE REMAINING roles will take place on Saturday, September 27 in Grand Rapids, Mich. and all interested parties are being directed to the Kickstarter profile promoting the film for more information.
