Cast Set To Join Tom Hanks In 'Inferno' Directed by Ron Howard

Sony Pictures and Imagine Entertainment have announced the supporting cast set to join Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon in Ron Howard's "Inferno" which begins filming at the end of April.

This marks the third film adaptation of a novel by Dan Brown to feature Hanks as Langdon, Howard as director and Brian Grazer as producer following their collaborations on "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons".

In this entry, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia. He teams up with Sienna Brooks, a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories, to prevent a madman from releasing a global plague connected to Dante's famed poem "Inferno".

Oscar nominee Felicity Jones ("The Theory of Everything") has been cast as Dr. Sienna Brooks, Irrfan Khan ("Life of Pi," "Slumdog Millionaire") has been cast as Harry Sims (aka. The Provost), Omar Sy ("X-Men: Days of Future Past," "The Untouchables") will play Christoph Bruder, and "Borgen" star Sidse Babett Knudsen will portray Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey, the head of the World Health Organization.

Talks are underway with several other internationally recognized actors for key roles. David Koepp adapted the script and the film is targeting an October 14th 2016 release. Brown, Anna Culp, Bill Connor, and David Householter will executive produce.
