Christine Baranski, Matthew Broderick and More to Appear at MTC's Fall Benefit Honoring Nathan Lane

Manhattan Theatre Club will present its 2016 Fall Benefit, honoring two-time Tony Award winner Nathan Lane, next Monday evening, November 21 at 583 Park Avenue (63rd Street and Park Avenue).

The evening will feature just-announced appearances by Lane friends and colleagues Christine Baranski, Jenni Barber, Mike Birbiglia, Matthew Broderick, Brian Dennehy, Mark Linn-Baker, Andrea Martin, Terrence McNally, Jack O'Brien, Seth Rudetsky, Lewis J. Stadlen, John Slattery, Susan Stroman, and more. Programming is subject to change.

Jerry Zaks (Forum, Guys and Dolls, Laughter on the 23rd Floor) will direct the evening. The creative team will include Justin Townsend (lighting designer), Dan Gerhard (Sound Designer), and Jason Michael Webb (musical director).

Nathan Lane has starred in seven plays at Manhattan Theatre Club: A Backers' Audition; Claptrap; The Lisbon Traviata; Bad Habits; Lips Together, Teeth Apart; Love!Valour! Compassion!; and Mizlansky/Zilinsky or "Schmucks" and served on MTC's Board of Directors from 1994-2007.

Lane currently stars in the Broadway revival of The Front Page alongside John Slattery and John Goodman. Previously, he appeared on Broadway in the smash hit revival of Terrence McNally's It's Only a Play and in the critically acclaimed Robert Falls production of The Iceman Cometh at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music as Hickey. Prior to that, he starred on Broadway in the Lincoln Center Theatre production of The Nance, for which he received Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations and won the Outer Critics Circle and Drama League Distinguished Performance Awards. He will next star in the National Theatre revival of Angels in America in London as Roy Cohn.

He made his Broadway debut opposite George C. On television, he was last seen as F. Lee Bailey in FX's Emmy winning "The People V. O.J. Simpson" and has had recurring roles on "The Good Wife" and "Modern Family" as well as many guest appearances (receiving six Primetime Emmy nominations, two Daytime Emmy Awards and a People's Choice Award).

Lane has appeared in 35 films including The Birdcage (Golden Globe nomination, Screen Actors Guild and American Comedy Awards); Ironweed; Frankie and Johnny;Mousehunt; Jeffrey; The Lion King; Stuart Little; Nicholas Nickleby (National Board of Review Ensemble Acting Award); The Producers (Golden Globe nomination); Swing Vote; Mirror Mirror; The English Teacher; No Pay; Nudity; and Carrie Pilby. He will next be seen in Sidney Hall alongside Logan Lerman and Elle Fanning. In 2006, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and in 2008, he was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame.

Sue Bovenkerk Slager, Sharon Sullivan, Lisa Towbin, and Susan Winter are co-chairs of the 2016 Fall Benefit.

The event begins with cocktails followed by dinner and a tribute to Nathan Lane. All proceeds from this annual event will support MTC's mission as a leading non-profit theatre company producing contemporary plays on and off-Broadway, nurturing new talent through their Artistic Development Program, and developing the next generation of theatregoers and theatre makers through their esteemed Education Program.
