Phillipsburg Middle School's band teacher, 41-year-old Vincent Pettinelli, was charged with invasion of privacy for using his iPod to record a 13-year-old undressing. Because of that charge, two organizations have cancelled upcoming performances which he was to conduct, including the August 17th Palmer Township performance as part of the Palmer Community Days celebration, and Aug. 7 for the Music Under the Stars series.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Vince Pettinelli Orchestra has been in existance for over 40 years, performing a variety of musical styles from big band to classic pop hits. They play both private and public social functions for all ages as well as outdoor venues.

Pettinelli is also the entertainment chairman of Phillipsburg's Ole Towne Festival committee. Festival coordinator Meg Dowd said, "Obviously, we take accusations like this very seriously. Once all the facts have been presented and we have everything in front of us we'll be able to make an informed decision."
