The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Players' Association (ASOPA) has made a counterproposal to hopefully get closer to end the the musician lockout after eight weeks.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the ASOPA amended their offer from from defining a minimum number of 77 musicians during the first two years, 85 by the end of the third year, and 89 by the end of the fourth to 77 musicians during the first two years,84 by the end of the third year, and 88 by the end of the fourth.

ASOPA vice president Daniel Laufer told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, "We are allowing the WAC/ASO almost three years to get to a minimum guaranteed complement of 84 musicians at the end of year three by using best efforts to hire musicians until then. That is enormous flexibility on our behalf even though we have extreme concerns that we can function without an immediate larger complement."
