June 3
12:30 2013

The international megastar pianist Lang Lang will give a special one-night only concert, hosted by Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG Award-winning entertainer Alec Baldwin, at Carnegie Hall in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage tonight, June 3 at 6:30PM. Lang Lang and Friends in Concert, rescheduled from its original date because of Hurricane Sandy, will benefit The Lang Lang International Music Foundation. Presented by CAMI Music, the event will feature Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell, Grammy Award-winning soprano Renée Fleming, nine-time Grammy Award winning recording artist John Legend, and Danish singer-songwriter Oh Land in special guest appearances.

Lang Lang will offer a performance of solo piano works by Frederic Chopin featured on his latest album, and for the first time ever Joshua Bell will join him in a performance of the Franck Sonata in A Major for Violin and Piano. Six child prodigies from three different continents, who have been supported by the Foundation in their music studies, will perform alongside Lang Lang.

The program will be followed by a gala dinner at the beautiful 10 On the Park at the Time Warner Center, Columbus Circle. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Lang Lang International Music Foundation, established in 2008, with the mission to educate and inspire the next generation of classical music lovers and performers by cultivating tomorrow's top pianists, delivering music education, and building a young audience through live music experiences. The vision of the Foundation is based on one simple principle: music makes life better. It heals, unites and inspires. And it makes us better people.
