"Where Do Bananas Come From? A Book of Fruits" is an experiential learning book that both educates and engages children through innovative content and imaginative illustrations. It combines nutrition information with hands-on experiments to actively involve readers and support children's nutritional needs. "Bananas" inspires readers to learn about and try 52 different fruits, one each week of the year. View video.

"Bananas" provides details on where fruits come from, how they grow, when they are in season, their distinctive qualities and the impact they have on growing bodies. The book encourages readers to go on taste adventures and describe new fruits using their five senses. It also includes vocabulary to articulate what it is about a fruit that readers do or do not like. They can then participate during shopping trips to pick a perfectly ripe fruit and explain how to eat it.

As obesity and other related chronic diseases continue to rise, new resources are essential to encourage children to make healthy food choices that will last a lifetime. Fruits are sweet, delicious and the perfect food to kick off this series to promote healthy eating. The author firmly believes that, "When kids learn about what they eat they are more excited to try new things."

Due to the pioneering nature of this nutrition book, author and award-winning Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Arielle "Dani" Lebovitz, is now raising funds via Kickstarter, the world's largest online funding platform for creative projects. The goal of the Kickstarter campaign is to self-publish "Bananas" and develop future titles in the series. See more information at Experience Delicious.
