Greenfield, Mass.

Wesley Blixt marks his fiction debut with "Skaters" (published by Xlibris). This new novel is a complex tale of historic corruption and revenge, and what happens when these forces collide.

"Skaters" follows an eponymous group of renegade skaters - the feral boys of Warren Falls - who live in the now decrepit Strathmore Hotel in a dying New England mill town. After the unjust death of one of their members, these outcasts of society seek justice in the midst of corruption and discrimination. Led by Boy Lachance, a charismatic young leader without a past and animated by the shadows of the brutality of the town's colonial history, the crew embarks on a mission of violence, reenacting the town's brutal colonial history and its Indian wars.

Suffused with violence and throbbing with suspense, "Skaters" is reminiscent of the grit and wry humor of Irvine Welsh's iconic novel, "Trainspotting." Blixt successfully delivers a startling, devilish and thoroughly absorbing first novel.
