2nd Lt. Dennis Scheer's memoir, "Vietnam: An Infantry and Cavalry Platoon Leader's Story" (published by iUniverse), a 2013 publication, is undergoing a renewed marketing campaign in 2015. Scheer had great success at the 2014 Miami Book Fair and the 2014 Los Angeles Book-to-Screen Pitchfest, which he is looking to continue in 2015.

This fast-moving immortalization of Scheer's experiences in the U.S.'s first insurgency war quickly moves from one episode to the next, detailing an intrepid, year-long journey.

Scheer was awarded a Bronze Star with Valor and a Silver Star for his service in the infantry and he was awarded another Bronze Star with Valor while serving in the cavalry. His unique experience leading both infantry and cavalry platoons as well as the details of the emotional trauma he endured as a soldier before, during and after the war unfolds in this engaging and intriguing story.

An excerpt from "Vietnam: An Infantry and Cavalry Platoon Leader's Story":

"I thank God every day that I survived my time there and that I have enjoyed a good life without a lot of regrets and guilt. I don't ever want to have to go to war again. However, no one can ever take away what I learned there. It forever changed me."
