Thirteen-year-old author Chideraa B. Okeoma has written his first novel with illustrations provided by his 11-year-old sister. "When Mystery Busters Came to Town" (published by AuthorHouse) follows the efforts of six young sleuths in a town with a host of unsolved mysteries.

In the first part of Okeoma's book, four teenagers discover an underground criminal network in their hometown. They're determined to bring this group's misdeeds to light and thwart any future crimes. In the second part of the book, two kids make discoveries about a mysterious kidnapping yet to be solved.

Readers will likely find a relatable character amongst these six young investigators. Each character brings a unique perspective and personality to the detective novel.

"The takeaway message from this book is that everyone can be a contributing member of this society," Okeoma says, "both adults and kids alike. Everybody can play a positive role in the society."

An excerpt from "When Mystery Busters Came to Town":

"'We still need to know what we are doing for summer vacation.' They all thought for a minute.
'That's right Lisa, we will get back to that,' Ann said. 'However, right now we are faced with a bigger problem.'
They thought for a few minutes.
Then they all said, 'We could solve the mystery and catch the robber!' The kids decided to name themselves the Mystery Busters."
