"The Tragedy of Darkness" (published by Xlibris) portrays what many young people go through on a continuing basis. Author Ted Bagley sees how they are often talented, smart and capable, but have no future focus. In his book, he shows how terrible decisions could lead to tragic outcomes.

Set in Chicago, "The Tragedy of Darkness" gives a strong depiction of human values, love and tragedy as its story follows the life of young man through his many life decisions. AJ has everything going for him, but his "DO IT MY WAY" attitude has him taking all the wrong choices. His impulsiveness leads him down the wrong road that ultimately takes him to the tragedy alluded to in the book's title.

"There are many AJ's in society and the experiences that he has throughout the book are no different from those of many young people," says Bagley. "The Tragedy of Darkness" presents valuable lessons to help the AJ's of this world and their parents in dealing with peer pressure and life pressures.

The book examines the key issues faced by young people: drugs, girls, guns, failed relationships and family problems. It does so in a way that others can clearly see that there are alternatives to the decisions that AJ made. Readers are shown how the real tragedy is that he could have led his life in a different and more positive direction, if only he made better decisions.
