Tremors in the Universe, a new book available from Balboa Press, is the powerfully written, first-hand story of author Robert Baittie's personal journey with Parkinson's disease. The book, which is recognized by the National Parkinson's Foundation and the Michael J. Fox Foundation, gives readers an intimate and personal look at his unique and upbeat approach to living with a life-altering disease and the impact on his daily life, family and business. A portion of the book's proceeds will be donated to both organizations.

The fresh and witty narrative chronicles how Baittie's life has forever changed - from the initial sense that something was wrong, through a growing array of seemingly unrelated symptoms and the decision to start treatment. It also chronicles his decision to participate in the Michael J. Fox Foundation's PPMI clinical trial in the hopes of isolating a biomarker that may contribute toward developing a cure, and his commitment to fundraising for Parkinson's research.

Initiated as a blog sixteen months after receiving his diagnosis, the book was created with a three-fold purpose: introspection on his relationship with the disease; providing his three children with a complete picture of their father's perspective on life; and empowering other Parkinson's patients with an honest and sincere view of living life positively with a chronic disease.

"Tremors in the Universe is my personal journal which documents my symptoms and the disease's progression, as well as my physical and emotional states through various phases. It's a realistic account peppered with a light, even humorous side of my new world. The book gives me the opportunity to share my experiences and perspective with others through an extremely personal look at the feelings I have experienced after receiving this diagnosis and the first years of adapting and coming to terms with it," commented Baittie.

"The book also gives readers a chance to share the inspirational gift I have realized through a reawakening of a new, higher level of spirituality that has strangely come from my evolving relationship with Parkinson's," he added.
