Author Steven Howard's "The Darien Chronicles: Objects for Reflection, A journey into Love: Part One - In The Beginning" (published by Balboa Press) is a dramatic novel exploring metaphysical truths, as a young boy and a secret friend journey through the emotional perils of growing up adopted by a family of strangers.

The novel is set in a fictitious town in western Massachusetts and follows Darien and his spirit guide, who represents and offers unconditional love and serves to plant seeds of truth in order to support Darien's spiritual journey in the physical world.

"There is a Presence, a spirit that is always there for us if we go within and listen to that voice, rather than to the self-limiting beliefs we take on from the outside world from a very early age," says Howard. "In that process of 'fitting in' and pleasing others, we can lose our connection with that divine aspect of ourselves and limit our potential from being expressed and realized."

Ultimately, Howard hopes his book will encourage readers to live from one's own inner awareness and open up to "a life of connection and easy flow."
