Employment of secretaries and administrative assistants is projected to grow 12 percent from 2012 to 2022, according to a BLS study.

Sandra Rorbak has worked in human resources for years and is no stranger to the secretarial field. Her firsthand knowledge of the field has helped her create a guide for aspiring businesswomen and secretaries.
"This book is primarily aimed at secretaries, administrative assistants, executive assistants, office managers, receptionists and other support staff who are responsible for coordinating or managing the office environment," said Rorbak.

With competition for jobs in the U.S. at an all-time high, Rorbak hopes to give readers a leg up on their competitors. The author wants readers to get a true sense of the secretarial profession from someone who has lived it.

"Unlike other guides, which simply focus on how to type and file, this book clarifies what novice secretaries really need to know: what to do (and what not to do) on the first day; how to handle the Bully Boss and other unsavory office personalities; and how to become a super, elite secretary."
