To save money is basically the aim of Raymond O. Woodbury in writing his self-help book "Secrets of the Service Technician" (published by Xlibris) that comprehensively discusses household machine repairs consumers can do individually. Furthermore, it has always been the author's happiness to be able to help other people especially with regards to his line of work as a home technician.

As a home technician for over 25 years, much of Woodbury's work includes answering to people's home calls for appliance repair. He found out that many of these requests usually involve minor problems that the clients could have easily fixed themselves, should they have known the basics. With this, the author decided to write a book that was easy to understand and read to advise on what to do when looking for an appliance.

"Secrets of the Service Technician" is not a do-it-yourself repair book, but rather a self-help and advice book to save money. Woodbury aims to introduce to the readers and consumers the simple shortcuts in handling machines that most consider as complicated and seemingly scary.
