S. C. (PRWEB) June 27, 2015 Rackes takes her readers to "Touch the Sky" (published by Xlibris) with her rhymes and verses that inspire by conveying her religious thoughts and feelings with soothing symbolism and moving metaphors. With these words, she offers prayers to the Lord, seeking the guidance of his loving hands, to dispel stress and bring succor to those needing relief in their lives.

Rackes' lyrics bolster the spirit and refresh weary souls, readying them to face the challenges of life while, at the same time, welcoming them back as they seek rest and respite. The material is drawn from the author's living experience, the highs and lows she felt in her journey, a rich repository of memories she shares to tell her readers that they are not alone, encouraging them to hold on to their faith - in the divine, in themselves, in their fellows, in the precious things they believe in - and carry on. She instills the blessing of hope and peace, nourishing souls with her prose and poetry, transubstantiated into manna for the human essence.

Weary travelers, romantic souls, casual readers, those seeking uplifting poems can find what they seek in Rackes' encouraging writings, exhorting them to spread their wings and "Touch the Sky."

About the Author
Sonja C. Crawford started writing poems and short stories around the age of 11. The novels started appearing around the age of 27. She is also an award-winning artist using the mediums of oils and water colors. She was one of the three first women who passed the Kentucky auctioneers test. She held at one time a North Carolina and Kentucky Real Estate license, the Kentucky Auctioneers Apprentice license, and the Certified Appraisers license. She studied sign language and uses it in Gospel songs. She was married to E. Ray Warren, and they lived in Kentucky for many years. After his passing, she returned to her hometown and later married Joseph V. Rackes. With Joe, her life became a life of wonder in the Michigan snows and in the beautiful spring and summer. They shared a joy never to be erased, and showing her of what life could be. Joseph or her "Joey", as she affectionally called him in the special moments, gave them a special love of sharing. The birds, the bunnies, and Michigan squirrels, sometimes as many as 42 in the backyard. He is now deceased, but she still remembers all they shared.
