HAMILTON, New Zealand

Trying to show youth's vigor and the beauty of Mount Pirongia as well as the unexpected perils that are not caused by nature has been the foundation for the exciting premise of author Ross E. Leaning's debut publication. "Peril on Pirongia" (published by Xlibris NZ) follows a tramping adventure up a New Zealand native bush with a few unforeseen problems.

This adventure follows two close friends as they bring their younger brothers on a camping expedition to reach the source of the stream on the mountain. All goes well until one of the youngsters unknowingly makes a rash decision that results in the boys having to leave the main tracks to avoid being caught by some rather unpleasant characters who are growing illegal crops.

This exciting tale that tells of the boy's exploits up the beautiful mountain mirrors the many adventures and mishaps that happened to the author and his friends. Aside from telling a hooking read, Leaning hopes to use "Perils on Pirongia" to awaken every reader's desire to explore their very own magnificient places and breathe in their beauty!
