Mark Brydges, a 27-year-old wrought iron designer, considers himself nothing out of the ordinary. He has no clue who his father is - or if he has a father at all - and was raised by a distant and depressed mother, so he is used to the unknown. Author Robert L. Ballantyne challenges the very history of the human race with his new science fiction novel, "Pharaohs of the Sky" (published by iUniverse), which follows Mark as he unravels a conspiracy surrounding the history of humanity, a journey that will lead him all the way to Egypt.

Henry Booth, a famous proponent of the ancient astronaut theory - which meditates on the notion that humanity originated from space - is wrought with grief when his dear friend is murdered. Not far away, Mark feels a strange connection to the murder, which drives him to seek out Henry. Upon meeting Mark, Henry soon finds a reason to quit grieving and start celebrating, as he believes Mark is the missing piece to his theory.

"Pharaohs of the Sky" follows these two as they scramble to solve the mystery surrounding mankind's origins. With the help of an Egyptian detective, they race against time and a menacing villain who aims to harness Mark's knowledge - for all the wrong reasons.

About the Author
Robert L. Ballantyne was born in Stratford, Ontario in 1974. He studied English and film and minored in history at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario from 1995 to 1999. He later began working at Huron Heights Secondary School in Newmarket, where he still teaches today. He and his wife have two children.
