Life is not all about a nice stroll in the park; it is not all about hardships and ordeals either. Author R.F Giles has proven it. He shares his inspiring story in "Looking Back," a heartwarming and motivational memoir that tells all about his childhood days and the lessons he learned along the way.

This book covers the bits and pieces of Giles's life. His recollection goes back to his childhood days to more recent times. He inserted occasional pieces of history, leading later into his life, such as the brief introduction to the QBFC or cameos of characters and incidents he came across along the way. Whenever he finds that some ways of life do not quite work, he managed to change direction as opportunity presents itself. His life story drifts into a series of small adventures, taking readers into an inspiring journey down memory lane.

He narrates the amusing escapades that he went through in his younger days. A curious child, he was so full of questions about the mysteries of life. But his mother often evades the conversation when it comes to discussing about how babies were born. One of the unforgettable moments in his life was when he learned about the consequences of stealing. His mother made sure that he remembers his lesson. His father made him work hard for everything. He earned little pleasures through diligence. He learned the importance of working for what he aims.

Told in an honest and often humorous narrative, "Looking Back" shows how a man is shaped by his environment, the people around him and the experiences that greatly contributed to the person he became today.
