Adua Celentano discovered her love for fashion and making clothes at a young age. In the new book, "Patterned After Me: Your Introduction to Personal Patternmaking" (published by Xlibris), the Italy and New York trained fashion designer, entrepreneur and professor guides beginners in the field of clothing design and sewing.

Celentano has partnered with former student Lolita Johnson to provide the foundation of basic personal patternmaking. "Patterned After Me" is written from the student's perspective, based on methods perfected by Celentano in her many years as a professor and designer for her own company, Adua Inc., in New York.

It was Celentano and Johnson's desire to ensure that the readers of this book would be able to create personal patterns for themselves and/or others to develop beautiful fashion designs for any size or figure. They wanted to simplify what can ultimately be an intimidating and complicated process by providing step-by-step instructions with helpful tips and tricks.

"We come in all sizes and figures, from svelte to voluptuous and no matter the size, we all have the desire to look and feel fabulous," Celentano says. "Many times, mass produced garments are developed based on a particular body type. With personal patternmaking, you are essentially making a garment that will fit you and only you, or the person for which you are designing."

"Patterned After Me" is not simply a reference book, it is an empowering reminder for women to embrace and celebrate their unique figure and style.
