New Children's Book, ELLE & BUDDY, is Releaesd

"Elle & Buddy" tells the inspirational story of Elle, a ten-year-old girl whose afraid to ride the Ferris wheel at the local fair. Elle uses a wheelchair, and she prefers to keep her wheels on the ground with her huge, slobbering dog, Buddy by her side. On the way home she sees some athletes using racing wheelchairs and becomes excited. After her mom surprises her with a racing wheelchair of her own, Elle and Buddy train together. Elle's confidence grows and when the fair returns she has the courage to go on the ride.

KD Rausin, author of "Mystic" an Amazon Best Book of the Month in January 2013, shows an intimate knowledge of adaptive sports that comes from helping her own daughter Arielle compete in everything from local 5Ks, to marathons around the world. Arielle Rausin is currently racing for the University of Illinois and she competed in the Boston and New York Marathons in 2015. KD and Arielle pioneered the adaptive racing program for Florida high schools and worked with different agencies to help provide racing chairs to kids in need.

The colorful, life-like illustrations in the book are courtesy of Muza Ulasowski, an Australian illustrator. KD and Muza worked back and forth by email to create a book that will delight and educate.

KD Rausin is also the author of the middle grade fantasy Mystic, which was featured as Florida Virtual School's One Book One School Adventure. She's a former teacher who lives in sunny Cape Coral, Florida surrounded by pets and two wonderful children.

Muza Ulasowski works from her home studio set in the leafy western suburb of Brookfield in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. She has illustrated nine books for children, including "The Sea Cat Dreams", "I Can't Hear You! I Can't See You!", and "Suvi and the Sky Folk".
