The human reality is a disarray of sad truths and within this complex latticework of input and outcome lies the guilty bestowal of faulty human behaviors. It is this notion that author Simon Dinkala candidly highlights in his debut book, "Crispy Stories in the Tropics: Histoires Croustillantes Sous Les Tropiques" (published by Xlibris), a collection of insightful short stories that dissects the entrails of human connections.

"Crispy Stories in the Tropics: Histoires Croustillantes Sous Les Tropiques" tells about the mundane, everyday situations of African life. Many of these stories revolve around the forbidden fruit and the conquering of another's heart by using a fetish, making him helplessly captivated. There are numerous stories of jealousy, envy and significant human interactions that involve and evoke strong emotions. A concoction of both fictional elements and real events, these stories allow for the discovery of different realities and the rediscovery of things experienced or heard. The author, with unpretentious audacity, unveils negative extremes that expose the readers to the dark forces negatively impacting people's lives. This emphasis on the polar negative makes for a stimulating theme that the author hopes could incite the much needed change in retrograde behaviors.

"Despite the technological improvement today, across various areas of civilization, there remain sides in the heart of the human being that still need much work, including sensitization," says Dinkala. "These stories must challenge everyone who is connected with the behaviors we adopt."

With its bold and direct take on the oft shied upon issues, "Crispy Stories in the Tropics: Histoires Croustillantes Sous Les Tropiques" offers some valuable insights that urge readers to reevaluate their personally held beliefs and actions.
