LONDON

How did the UK reach the 'golden years' of purposeful education, full employment and adequate housing? More to the point, why did successive governments in the latter part of the 20th century and early 21st century betray the British people by subjecting them to the overwhelming stresses of poor education, low-paid employment and a housing crisis eclipsing even that of the immediate post-World War II era? Author Alastair Macdonald Hart answers these questions as he examines "Where The UK Went Wrong [1945-2015]" (published by Xlibris UK) in his debut book.

Hart's enlightening book illustrates the resilience of the British people in the 194Os; their avarice during the 1970 and 198Os; and their apathy in the 21st century. It also shows the systematic destruction of 'society' in the modern world and the failure in basic services such as education, housing and purposeful employment.

"I consider myself lucky to have been born in the UK," Hart says. "I also consider myself lucky to have lived through the golden years, enjoying prosperity my children and children's children will only be able to dream of."

Written from the author's personal perspective, he presents a grass root level picture that hopes to convey a better understanding of where English society has come from and where it is going. "Where The UK Went Wrong [1945-2015]" is a substantial personal account that zeroes in on the challenges that Hart's native land must face and win if they want to relive their 'golden years.'

About the Author
Born at the beginning of 1952, Alastair Macdonald Hart missed World War II by less than seven years, yet the effects were still being felt all around him. Rationing and bomb sites were the norm as he grew up, with the once-Great Britain still reeling from the effects of the most devastating war in world history.
