Nannying for high-powered parents in Los Angeles, California (or anywhere else for that matter) takes on the heads-up of real professionalism and pride with Larissa Neilson's "The LA Nanny Book" (published by AuthorHouse). Helping nannies learn to take more initiative of their careers and work environments with grace and effectiveness is one of Neilson's aims in this book.

There are a whole set of issues specific to nannying (like low salaries, scheduling conflicts, heavy workloads, no overtime pay, etc.), and they are set against the fact that it is a vital though often overlooked profession for fast-paced modern lifestyles that form the status quo in urban economies around the United States. The author has had long experience on the job. Formally educated at The RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers) Center in Los Angeles, Neilson's book, as described by a RIE facilitator, speaks volumes for nannying becoming a truly respected profession:

"(It) is a wonderful and long-overdue guide for nannies...with a common-sense emphasis on the importance of respectfully and firmly setting boundaries with employers...compatible with the respectful boundary-setting (Larissa Neilson) so wisely uses with (her charges.)...(It is)...based on years of experience ...This book is a must-read for those in the profession of child-care industry (!)"

The LA Nanny Book breaks through to a new perspective on childcare. With her book, Larissa Neilson informs that the first years of life of every human being are the most important ones. In today's society, parents get busier by the day. They go to work and rely on caregivers for their children, whether in daycare centers or with nannies. So, these centers and nannies become the ones who ultimately raise tomorrow's citizens. Every interaction during those years will have an effect later on the children's performance at school and society overall.

The nanny career is now a scientific and respected service that has its own standards, value in society, as well as the economy.
