Author John H. Underhill's idea for "Lords of Kerballa" (published by Xlibris) first came to him when his son was suffering a severe attack of croup. In order to calm him down the author made up a story on the spot about the adventures of his son with an elf named Morduc. Morduc's adventures with his son, and then his grandson, became family favorites. In hopes that other young people might be similarly entertained by the quirky quest adventures of the two, the author has collected and coordinated the first third of them in this fast moving and suspenseful story of love, magic, loyalty and successful derring-do.

"Lords of Kerballa" follows the young knight, Red John, who is in love with a beautiful princess and wishes to one day marry her. But this dream is shattered when the Master of Darkness takes the princess captive. Red John sets out on a quest to free her accompanied by his friend Morduc, an Elven Prince. Together they endure harsh jungle terrain, dark caverns and unseen and deadly foes of air and water to save the princess and free the great port city of Kerballa from the tyranny of the Master of Darkness.

This book is a combination of a beloved bedtime story and quest fantasty/romance. "Lords of Kerballa" is a truly multifaceted story full of vivid images, exciting struggles, and a spirit of hope for young adult readers everywhere.
