The passion and continued research about human behaviour has led author Juan Xavier Di Varo to notice a huge shift in the way "human primates deceive themselves." By posing the question, "Are We Just Friends?" (published by Xlibris AU), Di Varo seeks to let readers know that platonic friendships cannot exist without the effect of physical attraction in some way, shape or form.

"A lot of us do not understand the science behind our behavior, and we are uncertain as to why we have certain feelings toward others we consider just friends," Di Varo reveals.

Throughout his book, he guides readers to understand the evolution at work, highlighting the point that the desires and non-desires come from the evolutionary traits humans carry as primates. "Are We Just Friends?" gives a clear indication as to why people do what they do as human primates. It also provides understanding as to the types of behaviour people undertake when faced with the possibility of intimate thoughts toward those they consider friends on a platonic level.

Di Varo further asserts that most people believe they are alone in their feelings towards others. With the aid of enlightening scientific points in his book, he imparts a better understanding of platonic relationships and the danger they could pose.
