John Trethewey Pens VOICES FROM THE COSMOS

As someone who has lived and worked in multiple countries, John Trethewey is very familiar with the importance of learning about other nations' culture. He has also witnessed how a lack of knowledge can lead to intolerance.

The benefit of studying the history of different countries is exactly what John Trethewey illustrates in his novel, "Voices from the Cosmos." In his book, he highlights the history of neo-Nazism in Germany to look at prejudice and its influence on current events. Trethewey, observed this type of discrimination firsthand when he was living in Munich and neo-Nazism ideology was prevalent.

"Residing in various areas of the world taught me the value of immersing myself in that particular country's past," Trethewey said. "I sought to inform myself as much as I could so I would be an authoritative voice when I spoke with others."

Trethewey, a former administrator and teacher, has worked with people from more than 40 nationalities and is fluent in four languages. He has lived in Europe, Japan and South America during his 30 years of experience in the field of education.
