Last year John M. Brewer launched his historical fiction, "Pilgrim's Journey" (published by iUniverse), which follows a young man hoping to have a future with the woman of his dreams in Colonial Boston. Brewer now hopes to bring his book to new audiences through a marketing push, which includes displays at book fairs in Guadalajara, London and Beijing.

Thomas Wyeth longs to have a future with his first love in Colonial Boston. When she suggests to him that he become a doctor, he decides to pursue the profession. Knowing it will impress her parents if he attends a prestigious school, he makes plans to attend Great Britain's finest medical school. Moments before he is to make the long voyage, her parents drop the ultimate bomb shell on him: they've arranged a marriage for her to someone else.

Devastated, Thomas travels to Great Britain and completes medical school. Following graduation he begins working at a joint practice in London and falls in love with the daughter of an apothecary. During this time, the Revolutionary War begins to escalate, leaving Thomas fearful for the safety of his family and his first love. With nowhere left to turn, he joins His Majesty's army and returns to the Colonies to find his family and his first love: if they're even alive.
