LOS ANGELES, Calif.

Jeremy Bradley rants about society's increasing dependence on smartphones that is resulting in more "dumbpeople", a term coined in his new book "Put Down Your Damn Phone Already: a (loving) rant about your obnoxious cellphone use."

On sale Nov. 18, 2014, published by SpeakFree Books (http://www.speakfreebooks.com), a division of SpeakFree Media Inc., Put Down Your Damn Phone Already features commentary about cellphone use in everyday situations that is becoming increasing bothersome to those who aren't addicted to their mobile device.

The book outlines annoying habits at restaurants, in airports and on airplanes, at concerts, at school and at work, while visiting with friends and highlights the laughable accessories people get for their mobile device.

"You can't go anywhere without seeing someone with their head down staring at a phone," said Bradley, a syndicated radio host and newspaper columnist. "When people lose their wallet with money and credit cards they don't freak out as much as they do if they lose their cellphone. There are statistics in the book showing how reliant people are with their phones and they even go into panic mode if their battery dies when they are out and about. Their love turns into a hatred as if their phone let them down. It's really quite bizarre."

Noting that worldwide more people own a mobile device (or two) than own a toothbrush, Bradley emphasizes the staggering facts about the wireless products.

"There are two sides to the battle: the cellphone users who are addicted and don't care, and the people who agree with me that is the people thinking mobile usage is taken to the extreme and becoming worrisome," said Bradley. "Don't get me wrong, I am a cellphone user but I still have some kind of etiquette while out for dinner or in a meeting or watching a movie. We've all experienced people's disregard when they feel entitled to use their phone wherever whenever."

Available for pre-orders on Amazon.com, BN.com, Kobo and iTunes, Put Down Your Damn Phone Already is a light-hearted though largely finger-pointing commentary designed to poke at the people who check their phone before they even sit up in bed, and enlighten those who are annoyed by the people who check their phone before they even sit up in bed.
