The Tal people have lived in the Plateau State of Nigeria since before the British colonized the land, but their history and culture has not always been well-documented. Together with his colleague, the late Dr. C.C. Jacob, author Gideon Baklit brings attention to this diverse tribe in his new book, "TAL: Location and History: Regaining Lost Ground" (published by AuthorHouse).

"TAL: Location and History" educates readers on the many aspects of Tal culture, language and history. Baklit traces the Tal people back to the time of British colonialism and discusses the origins of their customs and traditions.

Baklit also seeks to disprove misconceptions about the Tal people. A historical event labeled the Tal people as cannibals, but Baklit provides evidence to dispute this and other false claims.

"I want readers to know what happened in the past is important and for the correct information to be made available," says Baklit. "This can only be possible through documentation like this."
