Having a loving, caring early childhood with a large extended family, author Geoffrey J G Davy's fascination for family leads him to write his publication, "The Davy Family: Gaius 1633 to Ebony Rae 2012." His father's side has only one living cousin left Anne Boyd now in her nineties. He recently had the opportunity to glean a few more details when he spoke to Anne. This set him on a journey of family discovery that he now document for others to share.

In September 2011, he and his sister Primrose set out on an epic journey in search of the Davy relations. They were able to acquire a wealth of information on a trip that took them around the world, with stops in Exeter (U.K.), Jamaica and the U.S.A. They were able to visit sites connected with their ancestors dating right back to Gaius (1), through the next six generations to their grandfather, Thomas (34). The author attempts to document the history of the Davy family from the time of Gaius Davy and includes materials they have gathered.

Davy's intention is to focus on direct family ancestors. However, he will also visits other less direct ancestors who made their particular mark in many and varied activities such as ship building, farming, lime burning, iron foundries, the law, medicine and the military. This book also chronicles the stories of subsequent generations. It is meant to preserve the legacy that the Davy family contributed in this world.

"The Davy Family: Gaius 1633 to Ebony Rae 2012" is about one man's ancestors and how their past and history will let him understand more about his family and leave a remembrance for the generations to come.

About the Author
Geoffrey J G Davy lives in Albany, Western Australia together with his wife Margaret. He is now retired and lives on a small cattle farm, some 13 kilometers from central Albany. Both of them have been involved in farming all their working lives and still enjoy watching and being involved with the annual cycle of life on the farm.

Margaret has a love for horses and is able to enjoy her passion for them. He, on the other hand, has a varied list of interest, which includes golf, woodcraft, gardening , doing the endless repairs on farm and taking a close interest in both International and local events. Despite the world going through endless wars, it seems people are destined to continue the conflicts which do nothing, but cause grief and hardships. He is grateful that they live in an area far removed from the tragedies occurring in other parts of the world.
