MIAMI

Author Genie Craff worked in the field of special education for more than 30 years. During that time, she mastered various teaching techniques, learning what was effective and what was not.

Craff now brings her experience and knowledge to readers with her new educational book, "Hold My Hand: Remedy for My Destiny" (published by AuthorHouse), which tells the stories of the learners, including their incredible successes and accomplishments.

"Years of tutoring produced priceless stories that when told brought tears to the eyes of the listeners," Craff says. "I was inspired by the unabashed courage of the children as we stood together to make the impossible possible."

Craff, armed with her Masters of Education degree, tailored each of her lessons to fit the needs of the student. She says that by focusing on the strengths of the student, rather than his or her weaknesses, she was able to bridge any gaps and help each student learn essential life skills.

"Hold My Hand" chronicles the successes of Craff's students, providing readers with humor and inspiration. The book also provides parents with the valuable knowledge needed to partner with educators to help the children learn more effectively.

"Children all across our country are having success using proven methods with overall basic academics," Craff says. "It is only fair that children with special needs have similar successful outcomes when taught to take advantage of strategies that have worked for years."
