EAST BERLIN, Pa. -

Family Battles Evil in Gabriella Landaeta's Debut Novella

Sally and her husband, Mark, just want a safe place to raise their three children after Zack, their oldest child, gets shot. They pin their hopes on a new home in the country but, as this new novel reveals, the home has secrets of its own. Their happiness lasts for only a short time, and things aren't exactly what they appear.
The first sign of trouble happens when Sally faints while bringing in a last load from the van on move-in day. She's fainted before so the instance doesn't ring too many alarm bells. But soon she has a feeling of being watched and hears growling and footsteps. Sixteen-year-old Adrian and 19-year-old Zack start having horrible dreams about demons, curses, fire and death. Although their 5-year-old sister doesn't mention bad dreams, something's clearly happening in her room at the top of the stairs.

Sally calls in a paranormal investigator, who has shocking revelations about the house and its inhabitants, both seen and unseen. Will Sally and Mark heed her warnings or will evil spirits win in the end? "The House" takes readers on a journey into the troubled mind of a mother and the family she yearns to protect at all costs.

Author Gabriella Landaeta, a student at Bermudian Springs High School in York Springs, Pa., has wanted to be a writer since the first time a teacher put a pencil in her hand. She appreciates the support of her speech and drama teacher, as well as her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
