Friendships formed under the harshest of conditions are often the ones that last a lifetime.

In "A Soldier's Odyssey", Purple Heart recipient, Frank Maresca shares stories of his time as a rifleman in World War II and offers insight on the unique comradely shared by the men of his 75th infantry division.

"My journey from a baby-faced recruit to a seasoned rifleman in the United States armed forces would not have been possible if not for the outstanding moral character of the men surrounding me," Maresca said.

The book is an extensive historical memoir of WWII. It provides insights into everyday hijinks between men in the 75th infantry, gripping Battle of the Bulge firefight details and plights and emotions Maresca faced during his grueling five-month recovery from life threatening battle wounds.
