About the Author
Ephriam Sando was born in Chicago in 1934 and went with his family to California in 1943. He received his doctorate in English at UCLA with a thesis on T. S. Eliot's criticism in 1962. He has published several poems in various collections and journals and has translations in "High Wedlock Then Be Honoured" (Viking Press, 1970) and collaborated with Frederick Bargebuhr on the English wording of all the verse translations in his book: "The Alhambra: A Cycle of Studies on the Eleventh Century in Moorish Spain" (Berlin, Walter de Gruyter & Co., 1968). He taught classes at UCLA, for five years at The University of Iowa, and at California State University, Dominguez Hills from 1967 to 2003. He has received acknowledgements in books by various authors and one book has been dedicated to him.
