When Isabel Hawkins falls in love with Mathew, she goes against her family's wishes and begins a journey to discover her true destiny in "Isabel" (published by iUniverse), the debut novel by author E. L. Schoeman.

Isabel is a different type of nobility. She rides horses, sleeps in a hayloft and enjoys sword fighting.

William, the man Isabel considers to be her father, is convinced by his jousting partner, Sir John, that Isabel must change her ways and start acting like the noble she is meant to be.

It is soon after that Sir John begins spying on Isabel and her world is changed drastically.

Isabel must then begin her journey toward self-discovery and reveal her true destiny.

"I want my readers to feel something when they're reading," Schoeman says. "I want them to laugh, to find happiness. I want them to be frightened. And I want them to care about the characters enough that they cry when their fates are decided."
