Clinical sexologist Dr. Larry Falls is launching a new marketing push for his exploration into how phallic worship led to the development of modern religious beliefs, which culminated in his book, "When Sex Was Religion" (published by iUniverse). He also explains original sin and the oppression of women.

"Phallic worship remains in modern society in many ways. In fact, most people see it in many forms but don't recognize it," Falls says. "The subject is taboo but fascinating. It forces people to think ... (The book) will appeal to readers because it explains where we came from on a socio-religious level and the influence of our sexuality."

Falls adds he would like readers to "understand the beginnings of religion and the importance of our sexuality."

An excerpt from "When Sex Was Religion":
Phallic worship was not only a religion, but also a cause for dominance and sexual exploitation that, to this day, remains part of our social structure.
