Kat Armstrong portrays the adult lives of child abuse survivors in the pages of her new book, "Devil Whispers" (published by Xlibris), showing readers what many survivors must deal with years after their ordeal. The book is a fast-paced mystery following Kat's battle to regain the father she never had and her desperation to understand why she was never allowed to be part of their lives.

"Many people experienced child abuse as a child and have grown up having to relive these events," says Armstrong. "Most people assume that since the abuse has stopped and the survivor has escaped from their perpetrators, their pain is over, but it is never over."

The story begins when, upon the death of his wife, Kat's father suddenly becomes aware of a small portion of the abuse she endured as a child, or so he proclaims. As the story unfolds, his promises to change and be the father she never had would turn out to be nothing more than a devil's whisper. As he seeks to win her devotion and forgiveness, Kat seeks the answers that may unravel the reasons for her neglect and abuse.

An excerpt from the book reads:
It's time for you to be a survivor, not a victim, like a butterfly emerging from the cocoon and, although that may sound good, we all know it can be very, very painful.

Armstrong wants those who have survived child abuse to know that they are not alone in dealing with their past, that they are survivors and they should be proud that they survived. "Devil Whispers" is the first book of the "Hell and Back" trilogy, with the other books available soon. All three books are written so the reader may enjoy them in any order they wish.
