"EFI Every Foot and Inch" (published by AuthorHouse) follows the once-in-a-lifetime journey of a bicyclist in his 60s and how he was able to ride a bicycle across the United States. Overcoming many difficulties-physical, mental, geographical, to name a few-the book illustrates how one person overcame these obstacles. It takes readers through many fascinating adventures, obstacles encountered, geographic and historical sites and exceedingly positive situations culminating in the success of the journey which inspires, motivates and enlightens.

An excerpt from the book:
Riding a bicycle across the United States was an idea that came to me while working on my computer researching information to enhance my lesson plans for the history classes I taught at East Peoria High School. It was in the winter of 2005. Looking at a map of the U.S., the idea just popped into my head. Knowing I rode virtually every day, and retirement was soon approaching, the thought of doing something like this became very intriguing.

Walker believes that anyone can set goals and realize them. He has amazed and intrigued many when he described his experiences as a 60-year-old bicyclist. In fact it is through their encouragement that he decided to write the book. "This is to illustrate that regardless of age we are still capable of accomplishing deeds that are difficult for any age," he says.
