Author Carey Scheppner has been a fan of fantasy novels for some time, but has found them to be disappointing as of late. Deciding it was time for a change, Scheppner began writing his own fantasy series, one that follows a consistent set of rules for magic and features many dangerous foes and entertaining protagonists. He invites readers to experience his newly created fantasy world in the new book "Kazin's Quest: Book I of The Dragon Mage Trilogy" (published by AuthorHouse).

"Kazin's Quest" follows Kazin, a human mage who has been given a task by the arch mages. This task quickly turns out to be much more than a mundane quest, and results in Kazin taking responsibility for the safety of the world as he knows it as he finds himself in the middle of a prophecy that could result in the destruction of the world. He meets many strange and whimsical characters along the way. From a mapmaking dwarf to a minotaur fighting for his honor, the characters are as varied as they are unpredictable and entertaining.

"I believe this book and the others in this trilogy have more depth and believability than many other fantasy novels," Scheppner writes. "Other than the make-believe characters and the types of magic, the story is one of trials and victories that readers can relate to."

Scheppner hopes to restore the sense of magic that he finds lacking in many modern fantasy novels and entertain readers with the many mysteries and wonders present in the first of his Dragon Mage trilogy.
