In "Blue-Collar Believer" (published by WestBow Press), Chaplain William H. Schnakenberg IV recounts his journey of faith, one that brought him from a state of human suffering to a state of grace. This new book tells a story of brutal honesty and self-reflection, written to be an inspiring personal testimony of how the once spiritually lost may be found in Christ.

In the process of writing this book, his first, Schnakenberg underwent a major life change. He became the full-time caretaker of his father, a harsh, stubborn and agnostic man, while he was on hospice. The experience was one of the most trying episodes in his life but it also let him reflect upon and share his long-held beliefs. In "Blue-Collar Believer," Schnakenberg looks back to the conversations he had with his father.

"The book is an 'Apologetics in Action' story that I feel should be shared with the world," the author says. "I believe many Christians can relate to the conversations that we had and giving solid answers to questions is the key. This is my goal in writing this book as well as sharing my testimony."

"Blue-Collar Believer" shows, through Schnakenberg's personal narrative, how God works in a person's life and how he gives life meaning. It is a true story filled with many obstacles, struggles, fears, failures, dealings with skeptics and temptations. Above all, it is a true story of the transformative power of grace and faith.
