Beckie Butcher's Book to Be Presented at 2014 Tucson Festival of Books
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has estimated more than 1 million Americans suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). It's a reality Beckie Butcher understands all too well. In her new book, "My Battle with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" (published by iUniverse), which will be showcased at the 2014 Tucson Festival of Books, Butcher gives an intimate and inspiring account of having this physically and emotionally taxing disorder.
"A lot of people suffer from this serious but misunderstood disease. It's real, but a lot of people don't believe it is. Some even dismiss it," states Butcher.
In "My Battle with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome," she shares her intense and emotional journey of how the autoimmune disease CFS impacted her life from her first symptoms to the progress of her treatment and physical, spiritual and emotional recovery.
Butcher is also mindful to express how a strong support system helped her through the disorder. "The book is about me and how I have struggled with this illness, however, the other, 'characters' are the people who have loved and supported me throughout my journey, such as my mother, my minister and his wife and my doctor as well as my many friends. I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for them. This book would not have been written if not for them."
"My Battle with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" has garnered acclaim from those in the medical field and from sufferers of CFS.
