Annual Free Comic Book Day is Announced, 5/7

BRANDON, Fla., April 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ Mark Your Calendars for Saturday, May 7, 2016 for the Annual Free Comic Book Day, a single day when over 2,300 participating comic book shops across North America and the world give away comic books absolutely FREE to anyone who comes in their stores. It is a world-wide day of celebration for comic books.

William Insignares, owner of Hollywood Comics & Collectibles and comic book industry veteran for 24 years, will celebrate Free Comic Book Day with a laser focus on supporting literacy.

Hollywood Comics and Collectibles at Westfield Brandon will be giving out over 4,000 comic books and book markers for Free Comic Book Day and also proudly sponsors local libraries with free comic books and reading prizes throughoutthe year in its efforts to make today's readers, tomorrow's heroes.

In addition, Hollywood Comics & Collectibles will host globally acclaimed, Iron Man's Comic Book Artist and co-writer, Bob Layton for a special children's story time reading, multi-generation comic book signing and Meet & Greet.

Bob Layton is one of the comic industry's true visionaries, writer, creator, artist, designer and entrepreneur. He has garnered over 5,000 comic book credits as editor, writer, and artist. Bob is especially know for his reinvention of the Iron Man comic in the late 70's, taking it from near cancellation to one of Marvel's all time best selling comic book series which spawned the hit movie. He also launched the first mini-series in comic's history at Marvel with "Hercules: Prince of Power" and co-created the record-breaking comic "X-Factor", as well as characters such as The new Ant-Man, War Machine and DC's Huntress.

In fact, both William and Bob as children learned to read with comic books, as well as many avid adult comic book readers.

It helps children who are reluctant to read, acquire grade level reading skills.
